Gold Prospecting: A weekend away
Gold Prospecting: The real gold found was in the journey!
Many people have the perception that Mammoth Lakes is far from everything because it is 5-hour drive from Los Angeles. Â Well, if you are an outdoor enthusiast, Mammoth is actually close to everything; Hiking, climbing, fishing, hunting, photography and even… Gold Prospecting. Â My brother and I set out for a little weekend journey in the dead of winter:
Here is a little clip of my brother and I prospecting in the California desert.Â

Camping in the desert is a great time because it allowed us to escape the snow for a couple of days and journey to warmer weather, all while doing something we really enjoy. Â Here we have our chairs set up for the evening, about ready to start cooking dinner:
The sunsets in the desert are always a beautiful. It looked pretty windy but in fact there was just a warm breeze; It as a nice way to top off a day of working hard.
Lenticular clouds over the desert. While I love getting away for a camping trip, I also love coming home especially when its this pretty. Â Here is a shot we took just outside of Bishop, California.
